Amazon Reduces Commission Charges!
Starting from the 15th May 2024, Amazon will adjust their commission rate for the sale of low-priced clothing. The price thresholds will vary depending on the regional marketplace.
New Rate
Region | Price | Old Rate (%) | New Rate (%) |
Belgium | < €15 | 15 | 8 |
Canada | < $20 | 17 | 10 |
France | < €15 | 15.45 | 8.24 |
Germany | < €15 | 15 | 8 |
Italy | < €15 | 15.45 | 8.24 |
Japan | < ¥2500 | 12 | 8 |
Netherlands | < €15 | 15 | 8 |
Poland | < zł65 | 10 | 8 |
Spain | < €15 | 15.45 | 8.24 |
Sweden | < kr175 | 15 | 8 |
United Kingdom | < £15 | 15.3 | 8.16 |
This reduction follows a similar policy for Amazon US announced at the end of 2023, which took effect on the 15th January 2024:
Region | Price | Old Rate (%) | New Rate (%) |
United States | < $15 | 17 | 5 |
United States | $15-20 | 17 | 10 |
Observers have pointed out that this move is likely to be an attempt by Amazon to make its platform more competitive with other low-cost competitors such as Shein, which are increasing in popularity for clothing sales.
Staying Updated
Many sellers have reported that they have already begun receiving notification emails from Amazon informing them of this change.
One of the most difficult aspects of selling on Amazon is keeping up to date with its rapidly changing platform rules, many of which can be technical.
